Sam is a Partner on the investment team at Asymmetric.
Prior to joining the founding Asymmetric team, Sam was a Vice President at private equity firm Sycamore Partners, where he focused on control-oriented investments primarily in retail companies. Previously, Sam worked at Apax Partners on the Global Alpha team, investing across the capital structure in U.S. and European businesses. Prior to Apax, Sam worked at KKR in the Capital Solutions Group, employing a similarly flexible investment mandate.
Sam received an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a B.A. in Economics with Distinction from Yale University, where he played on the Men’s Varsity Squash team.
Focus: Horizontal & Vertical SaaS, Healthcare IT, Digital / E-Commerce Platforms.
Travels: Try to visit at least a couple of new countries every year - New Zealand and Croatia are (separately) next on my list!
Origins: Born in Indiana, mostly grew up in the Boston area.
Family: Grew up as one of four brothers - my parents deserve an award!
Sports: Walked on to Yale’s Varsity Squash team as a Freshman, promptly rode the deep bench for the next three years and slipped into the starting lineup as a Senior.
Giving: Charities that work to treat mental illness - an important, complex, often misunderstood category of disease.
